Centennial Memory #13: Chester Chapter TV Special

To celebrate the DeMolay Centennial, PA DeMolay will be counting down 100 memories worth celebrating that took place within the DeMolay Chapters and Jurisdiction of Pennsylvania.

Today, we have another DeMolay Week activity in which the members promoted DeMolay through a television program. This time, it was Chester Chapter who put together a TV special in Spring of 1966. Although the original plan was to go with a smaller broadcast station, "Dad" Robert Stark suggest that "If we're going to do it, we may as well go all the way." This motivation allowed them to get in contact with KYW-TV, connected with NBC at the time. Unfortunately, with multiple rescheduling of dates, the TV Special did not take place during DeMolay Week, instead airing in early May. Regardless, this was a great experience for the members of the Chapter. Below is the article from the September 1966 issue of the DeMolay Cordon, which explains the Chapters experience in show business.

Until next time - "Dad" Joe Pullin
