Each Friday I am posting a PA DeMolay Blog related trivia question. Each active DeMolay from Pennsylania (excluding Elected State Officers) who correctly posts their answer in the comments section of this blog will be placed in a drawing to receive 5 points for the Take Control! program and receive a special "Fezzy" gamer tag over on the points page! All you have to do is leave your answer in the comments section. On Monday morning I will randomly select one of the correct answers and award the person with the points. Answer every week and rack up some major points - it's that easy!
This week, to encourage a little cross blog reading, our question comes from a blog post over at the Ontario DeMolay blog located at demolayontario.blogspot.com - go get the answer there!

The Degree of Royal Purple is awarded as the highest honor in recognition of outstanding, continuous and dedicated service of a Majority Member to the International Order of Job’s Daughters.
ReplyDeleteThe royal purple degree is the Job's daughter's equivelent to demolay's active legion of honor
ReplyDeletea jobs daughter degree given to members who have reached majority and have dedicated their time and given effort to promoting jobs daughters
ReplyDeleteThe Degree of Royal Purple is designed to honor Majority Members who have been especially generous in dedicating their time and efforts to promoting their Bethels and the International Order of Job's Daughters. As Job's Daughters, we are expected to be "the Fairest in the Land," but it is often easy to fall short of the mark. The Daughter who always displays faith, responsibility, respect and love should be rewarded, and it is with this aim that we confer the Degree of Royal Purple.
ReplyDeleteThe purpose of Job's Daughters is to teach young women to live responsibly, morally and righteously. The Book of Job is a strong foundation upon which to build this training for it deals with a very real person, a fallible human being Job. By studying the trials and triumphs of this man, we hope to discover how to direct our own lives to the end that we may receive our final reward.
Upon receiving the Degree of Royal Purple, recipients are given a gold medallion. On the medallion, they find engraved a figure of a Junior Princess holding a White Dove. It is meant to remind recipients to always be patient and diligent in thier work and, as Job endeavored to teach his children of the Power of the One Living God, may they also become useful instruments in conveying His love and peace.
Also pictured is a Senior Princess holding the Urn of Incense. It symbolizes the important lessons of the story of Job's anguish and suffering, and the final triumph of his dedication to God. If ever you begin to doubt the Lord's presence, study briefly the soft colors of a sunrise or the fragrant beauty of a rose, and your faith will be renewed.
Along with the two princesses, the medallions have engraved upon them an Honored Queen and her symbol, the Horn of Plenty. Recipients have learned well the teachings of the First and Second Epochs or they would not receive nomination to the Degree of Royal Purple. Yet, recipients have another lesson to learn, that of reward. You must realize that the reward of receiving the Degree of Royal Purple does not signify the termination of thier work in Job's Daughters. Rather, it should inspire them to continue in thier devotion to our Order. They must remember that all people are equal regardless of race, creed, color or achievement, and must not allow pride or conceit to interfere in thier relationships with other Daughters of the Bethel. Recipients must, above all, live up to thier own high standards so that they may encourage others to adopt the kind of life that merits the Degree of Royal Purple.
Recipients of the Degree of Royal Purple have proven themselves to be deserving of your respect and admiration.
The Degree of Royal Purple is awarded as the highest honor in recognition of outstanding, continuous and dedicated service of a Majority Member to the International Order of Job’s Daughters.
